ABOUT ME
[ NARRATIVE SEQUENCE // CHRONOLOGICAL RECORD ]
Background
I'm Nicholas Sean Buckingham, born in 1986 in Phoenix, Arizona. I grew up in the Valley with my sister Jennifer, and my parents Bonnie and Philip Buckingham.
My mother Bonnie worked as a pet groomer, bringing patience and care into our lives. My father Philip was a dedicated electrical engineer specializing in design engineering, whose work was deeply rooted in drafting and physical hardware design.
Early Inspirations
My passion for technology was directly inspired by my father, who constantly brought home fascinating tech—touch screens, early DVD readers, CD/DVD burners, and other cutting-edge devices. His enthusiasm was contagious, and it sparked my own curiosity.
This curiosity expanded when I joined the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Club, learning the power of team-driven, modular problem solving. Over time, I drew inspiration from Disney's imaginative innovation and technologists like Alex Younts, whose work showed me how technical knowledge could be shared and celebrated.
Military Service USAF VETERAN
At age 20, I enlisted in the United States Air Force. It was a pivotal time in my life. I had just lost my sister Jennifer, and the Air Force provided critical structure, purpose, and a chance to serve my country.
My years in the service built my resilience and gave me the opportunity to work on complex military networks, laying the groundwork for my career in computing.
Career & DevOps Focus
Over my professional career, I have specialized in systems engineering, systems administration, infrastructure automation, and DevOps.
My daily technical stack focuses on orchestration, scripting, and configuration:
- ▸ Microsoft MECM / SCCM deployment, configuration, and packaging pipelines.
- ▸ PowerShell automation scripting for enterprise operations.
- ▸ Kubernetes pod scheduling, ingress management, and Docker containerization.
- ▸ IaC & Cloud Infrastructure deployments in hybrid cloud environments.
Family & Home Core
I am married to Kinga Henryka Buckingham (born 1982), and together we have a wonderful daughter, Nicole, who is now 3 years old.
Watching Nicole explore her surroundings with endless energy and curiosity reminds me of why I fell in love with technology in the first place—the pure joy of discovery, engineering, and creating things that work.
